The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Kirby Mitchell kicked well hit freekick during the 2nd minute of the match. Best Mogork fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 4th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Brye Wenham having to interfere. If Marcus Fraser had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 5th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 7th minute the ball was on its way in behind Myrtou FC's goalkeeper Brye Wenham, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Brooker Weeks made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bran Rear in the 11th minute of play. When Bran Rear came up free with the goalie in the 13th minute, the Myrtou FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Bran Rear couldn't finish the play. When Myrtou FC's Best Harkness in the 15th minute got a chance for a shot 15th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Southern Sharks's goalie prevented a goal. Kirby Mitchell sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After recieving a nice pass, Southern Sharks's Billy Hursey tried to score from far away in the 42nd minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. 44 minutes into the match, Myrtou FC's goal looked a bit too open when Marcus Fraser came free, but Brye Wenham reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Marcus Fraser to make the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Best Harkness in the 53rd minute of play forced Southern Sharks's goalkeeper Brooker Weeks to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Best Harkness had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Brooker Weeks showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Best Harkness in the 57th minute of the match. Best Harkness received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 62nd minute. Brooker Weeks tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 65 minutes into the game, one of Myrtou FC:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Brye Wenham didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Billy Hursey went, in the 68th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. Marcus Fraser sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Buchanan Rennie kicked well hit freekick during the 73rd minute of the match. In the 78th minute of the match Southern Sharks got a corner. Myrtou FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Billy Hursey ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner led Southern Sharks's Karl Harkness to fire away a dangerous shot which Brye Wenham despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Brye Wenham showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Best Mogork in the 80th minute of the match. 83 minutes into the game, Marcus Fraser cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-0. Brye Wenham was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Neville Kennedy's late challenge caught a Myrtou FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Neville Kennedy helped the player get up and apologised. After 90 played minutes Southern Sharks got a freekick which was hit by Neville Kennedy. In the 91st minute of the match Abe Dearn sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Brooker Weeks skillfully saved the ball. Southern Sharks walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
