Keefe Reichelt charged in rather forcefully in the 6th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Keefe Reichelt the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In a very dangerous position, a player in Arsenal Academy fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 5th minute. Penalty! In the 16th minute Alberto Peplow shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kyle Heathwood saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Kirby Cawthorne showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eavan Bouer, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. After having played for 19 minutes, Carman Walsh managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Brombin's supporters crossed their fingers, but Carman Walsh was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Carman Walsh fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kyle Heathwood having to interfere. After 25 played minutes Alvin Heys shot from long distance. At first the shot seemed to be simple for Brombin's Kirby Cawthorne to catch but Alvin Heys was lucky. It became 1-1 after the goalkeeper had been careless and dropped the ball into goal. 32 minutes into the game, Carman Walsh cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-2. Kyle Heathwood was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 44th minute, Payne Voller got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 47 minutes into the game, Arsenal Academy's Carl Swan nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Kirby Cawthorne made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-2. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Eavan Bouer stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Carl Swan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Eavan Bouer received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 55th minute. Kirby Cawthorne tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Arsenal Academy's Carl Swan got a good chance for a goal in the 57th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 59th minute Carl Swan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kirby Cawthorne saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Eavan Bouer had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alberto Peplow in the 69th minute of play forced Arsenal Academy's goalkeeper Kyle Heathwood to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 72 minutes into the match, Brombin's goal looked a bit too open when Eavan Bouer came free, but Kirby Cawthorne reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Kirby Cawthorne made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eavan Bouer in the 78th minute of play. Carl Swan blasted a shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Kirby Cawthorne having to make a save. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jamie Wilde during the 84th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Carl Swan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kirby Cawthorne having to interfere.
