Edwardo Paddle could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 3rd minute of the match, but Arthur Aliendi made a huge save. After a defensive mix-up in Nagambie's zone, Robert Smee stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jared Kenack came out of the goal and Robert Smee tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 36 minutes into the match, Nagambie's goal looked a bit too open when Robert Smee came free, but Jared Kenack reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jared Kenack showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Robert Smee, who was totally free with the ball in the 38th minute. In the 38th minute, Clarke Chant hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a rather tough play, Bankstown FC's Clifford Clark got a free kick in the 44th minute.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Robert Smee to make the kick off. After 53 minutes of play, Bankstown FC's Jake Durbridge made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Jared Kenack was left in no man's land by his defense there! If Jake Durbridge had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Bankstown FC's Robert Smee got a good chance for a goal in the 60th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 64 minutes into the match, Nagambie's goal looked a bit too open when Archie Orvad came free, but Jared Kenack reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Edwardo Paddle had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Robert Smee sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Christian Wayland's late challenge caught a Bankstown FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Christian Wayland helped the player get up and apologised. In the 73rd match minute, Nagambie was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Christian Wayland to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 76 minutes, Robert Smee managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Bankstown FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Robert Smee was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 87th match minute, Nagambie was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Christian Wayland to maneuver through the defense. After 90 minutes, Clarke Chant mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Nagambie and the Bankstown FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Bankstown FC booed when Nagambie was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 90 match minutes in a wonderful position. Clarke Chant didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Robert Smee had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
