In the 5th minute of the match, Jake Durbridge got a very nice opportunity to score, but Iggy Burmeister was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Robert Smee was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 6th minute. Bankstown FC's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Iggy Burmeister made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Robert Smee in the 8th minute of play. When Arthur Fynn fell near the penalty area in the 17th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Wyanga's protests and gave Arthur Fynn a yellow card for diving instead. After 17 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Wyanga! The goalkeeper, Iggy Burmeister, was totally fooled by Bankstown FC's Russell Egel, who 19 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. After 21 minutes, Irving Hogan mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Wyanga and the Bankstown FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 23rd minute of the match Gregory Tupman shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Iggy Burmeister showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. With a little luck, Wyanga's Iggy Burmeister got control of the ball when Bennett Osbiston tried to sneak it across the goal line. Jake Durbridge who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 30thth minute tested the skills of Iggy Burmeister when he managed to save the team from getting behind. After having played for 31 minutes, Jake Durbridge managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Bankstown FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jake Durbridge was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Jake Durbridge had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. When Bankstown FC's Robert Smee in the 35th minute got a chance for a shot 35th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Wyanga's goalie prevented a goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Robert Smee got free with Iggy Burmeister in the 37th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 39th minute Evan Potter shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arthur Aliendi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 42nd minute, Pete Lowes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Iggy Burmeister didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Russell Egel went, in the 43rd minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. If Jake Durbridge had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Raleigh Morse to strike the kick off in the second half. Raleigh Morse sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Gregory Tupman hit a great freekick 60 minutes into the match. Iggy Burmeister showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Robert Smee in the 64th minute of the match. In the 68th match minute, Bankstown FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ivan Sinden to maneuver through the defense. Wyanga's Pete Lowes couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 69th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Bankstown FC. Robert Smee fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Iggy Burmeister having to interfere. Joshua Prince could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 84th minute of the match, but Arthur Aliendi made a huge save. Evan Potter fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Arthur Aliendi having to interfere. Iggy Burmeister stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Robert Smee's shot from short distance in the 90th minute. After having played for 93 minutes, Jake Durbridge managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Bankstown FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jake Durbridge was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The supporters of Bankstown FC booed when Wyanga was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 94 match minutes in a wonderful position. Arthur Hitchen didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jake Durbridge sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Bankstown FC had won after a very even match.
