Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Oxford United's Christopher Markcrow started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 8thth minute of the game Christopher Markcrow who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Wauraltee's Carleton Byrnes was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 10 minutes Wauraltee's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Dalwood Barry who took care of the corner kick. After taking down the ball on Oxford United's corner Dalwood Barry fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Carleton Byrnes quite easily take care of the ball. Ian Willis's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ronald Shipman read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 13th minute of play. Ian Willis fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ronald Shipman having to interfere. Rick Saisell hit a great freekick 19 minutes into the match. Neil Flisfeder's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ronald Shipman read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 22nd minute of play. Ian Willis fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ronald Shipman having to interfere. In the 28th minute, Christopher Markcrow got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Neil Flisfeder got free with Ronald Shipman in the 32nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. A collision led to Oxford United getting a freekick after 33 minutes play. Rick Saisell hit a great ball. Oxford United's Ronald Shipman proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 36th minute of the match, managed to save Oxford United from getting a goal against them. Ronald Shipman made a fantastic save in the 38th minute, when Neil Flisfeder sent off a good shot on target. If Ian Willis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ian Willis stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 55th match minute, Wauraltee was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Phil Pickhills to maneuver through the defense. In the 62nd minute Ian Willis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ronald Shipman saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ronald Shipman showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Neil Flisfeder, who was totally free with the ball in the 65th minute. Ronald Shipman took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ian Willis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to Oxford United getting a freekick after 67 minutes play. Thomas Bennett hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Neil Flisfeder in the 68th minute of play forced Oxford United's goalkeeper Ronald Shipman to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 69 minutes, Eden Nurthen mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Wauraltee and the Oxford United players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Wauraltee's Eden Nurthen got a free kick in the 70th minute. Oxford United's Ronald Shipman played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ian Willis in the 74th minute of play. After having played for 79 minutes, Ian Willis managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Wauraltee's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ian Willis was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Remington Porter kicked well hit freekick during the 84th minute of the match. Russ Edwards made a great header on Wauraltee's corner, it was just that Oxford United's Ronald Shipman managed to reach the ball for a save. Nathaniel Dollymore scored 0-2 in the 98th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Carleton Byrnes, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Oxford United eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
