Spectators: 6750 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1600, VIP seats: 150) Excelsior FC's Jason Atkin started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Christian Venz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 3rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 5thth minute of the game Christian Venz who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Excelsior FC's Roger Wood was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Roger Wood took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Christian Venz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Arneil Baxter fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Roger Wood having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Excelsior FC's Brye Pearce got a free kick in the 12th minute. After having played for 14 minutes, Arneil Baxter managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. JK Tammeka's supporters crossed their fingers, but Arneil Baxter was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Christian Venz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Roger Wood having to interfere. Rudolph Kiel received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 17th minute. Benjy Forrest tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 18 minutes into the game, Jason Atkin recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Benjy Forrest. Jason Atkin showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-1. In the 22nd match minute, JK Tammeka was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Larry Tinsley to maneuver through the defense. Arneil Baxter sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Roger Wood stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Arneil Baxter's shot from short distance in the 26th minute. 36 minutes into the match, JK Tammeka's Christian Venz sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Roger Wood narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Arneil Baxter fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Roger Wood having to interfere. In the 42nd minute, Larry Tinsley hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jason Atkin in the 45th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Benjy Forrest saved JK Tammeka from getting behind. A collision led to JK Tammeka getting a freekick after 46 minutes play. Larry Tinsley hit a great ball.

Roger Wood showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Christian Venz, who was totally free with the ball in the 52nd minute. Roger Wood was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Christian Venz showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-2 in the 55 minute of play. Benjy Forrest took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rudolph Kiel, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Excelsior FC's Jason Atkin got a good chance for a goal in the 73rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Christian Venz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Roger Wood having to interfere. Jordon Gillingwater was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 80 minutes into the match. The goalkeeper, Roger Wood, was totally fooled by JK Tammeka's Stew Newham, who 82 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. If Patrick Oconnell had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Christian Venz in the 91st minute of play forced Excelsior FC's goalkeeper Roger Wood to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Brye Pearce kicked well hit freekick during the 95th minute of the match. The crowd rose to their feet as Christian Venz kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Roger Wood. That made the score 1-4 in the 96 minute of play. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. JK Tammeka walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
