Spectators: 7828 (Terracing: 5968, Seating: 1830, VIP seats: 30) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Brant Mcneven kicked off to start the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ronald Mcroberts in the 5th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Doyle Coldicutt prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After a defensive mix-up in The Cornhorns's zone, Ronald Mcroberts stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Doyle Coldicutt came out of the goal and Ronald Mcroberts tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The Cornhorns's Doyle Coldicutt played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ronald Mcroberts in the 11th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in The Cornhorns's zone, Ronald Mcroberts stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Doyle Coldicutt came out of the goal and Ronald Mcroberts tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Brant Mcneven fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Doyle Coldicutt having to interfere. Ed Gummow struck a weak shot in the 24th minute. Doyle Coldicutt didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Sunshine Coast FC. 26 minutes into the match, The Cornhorns's goal looked a bit too open when Ronald Mcroberts came free, but Doyle Coldicutt reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Brant Mcneven sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 31st match minute, The Cornhorns was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Randle Bridson to maneuver through the defense. Sunshine Coast FC's Ronald Mcroberts got a good chance for a goal in the 33rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Brant Mcneven blasted a shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Doyle Coldicutt having to make a save. Doyle Coldicutt showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ronald Mcroberts, who was totally free with the ball in the 38th minute. Bernie Schenck received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 41st minute. Fletcher Terris tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 45th minute, Brant Mcneven managed to get in a good position for a shot. Sunshine Coast FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Brant Mcneven was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Doyle Coldicutt breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Bernie Schenck was the one to do the kick off. In the 52nd minute, Bernie Schenck ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Fletcher Terris was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. The Cornhorns were furious when Navin Argoud was red carded, 55 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. In a very dangerous position, a player in The Cornhorns fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 55th minute. Penalty! Ed Gummow recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 62nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Ronald Mcroberts had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the match had gone on for 75 minutes, Brant Mcneven took a quick shot and it went in 1-1 without a chance for Doyle Coldicutt to make any attempt to save it. Ronald Mcroberts received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 80th minute. Doyle Coldicutt tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 82 minutes in the game, Brant Mcneven fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Doyle Coldicutt having to interfere. Brant Mcneven sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Doyle Coldicutt was out of position in the 91 minute of play, and Brant Mcneven capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Brant Mcneven really showed his touch with that goal: 1-2. After a defensive mix-up in Sunshine Coast FC's zone, Logan Favas stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Fletcher Terris came out of the goal and Logan Favas tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Sunshine Coast FC played a much better game than The Cornhorns and deserved their victory. The The Cornhorns players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
