Spectators: 8029 (Terracing: 6023, Seating: 1846, VIP seats: 160) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Anthony Tupman got the match started through his kick off. The supporters of Gold Coast United booed when Peipei United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 3 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cole Orr didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Norman Grieve in the 5th minute of play forced Peipei United's goalkeeper Edmund Podowski to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Norman Grieve came up free with the goalie in the 7th minute, the Gold Coast United fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Norman Grieve couldn't finish the play. In the 11th minute, Anthony Tupman got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 14th minute Norman Grieve shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Edmund Podowski saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Anthony Tupman sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Gold Coast United's Brendon Beckwith played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Murphy Garing in the 20th minute of play. In the 23rd match minute, Gold Coast United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Justin Bailey to maneuver through the defense. Brendon Beckwith made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Murphy Garing in the 24th minute of play. 28 minutes into the match, Gold Coast United's goalkeeper Brendon Beckwith had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Anthony Tupman. When Anthony Tupman came up free with the goalie in the 31st minute, the Peipei United fans jumped to their feet. In the 34th minute, Murphy Garing fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Brendon Beckwith, passed just outside the right post. Brendon Beckwith made a fantastic save in the 36th minute, when Anthony Tupman sent off a good shot on target. After 38 minutes of play, Peipei United's Anthony Tupman made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Brendon Beckwith was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 42nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Gold Coast United's goalkeeper Brendon Beckwith, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. An unexpected shot in the 44th minute by Casper Woods got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Jason Stebbing was the one to do the kick off. Murphy Garing sent away a hard shot on goal in the 80th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Russel Cubit sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 85 minutes, Anthony Tupman managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Peipei United's supporters crossed their fingers, but Anthony Tupman was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Anthony Tupman in the 88th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Brendon Beckwith prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Anthony Tupman fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Brendon Beckwith having to interfere. Peipei United's Murphy Garing got a good chance for a goal in the 94th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Peipei United fully deserved thier win.
