Mollyspark Pumas's supporters rose to their feet, but Stew Eversden was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Roger Wood breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Case Heberle charged in rather forcefully in the 30th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Case Heberle the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 31st minute, Case Heberle hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Larkins Pukallus came up free with the goalie in the 32nd minute, the Mollyspark Pumas fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Larkins Pukallus couldn't finish the play. Stew Eversden sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Stew Eversden was the one to do the kick off. After 54 minutes of play, Mollyspark Pumas's Aden Leydin made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Roger Wood was left in no man's land by his defense there! 58 minutes into the match, Jason Atkin dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of David Marcola, 1-1. The referee ignored Excelsior FC's protests and gave Brye Pearce a yellow card for diving instead. Mollyspark Pumas's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
