Anthony Tupman started the match with the kick off. The crowd rose to their feet as Peipei United's Murphy Garing slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Roger Wood. That made the score 1-0 after 3 minutes of play. Anthony Tupman sent away a hard shot on goal in the 7th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Roger Wood took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Murphy Garing, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Murphy Garing in the 10th minute of play forced Excelsior FC's goalkeeper Roger Wood to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Murphy Garing came up free with the goalie in the 11th minute, the Peipei United fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Murphy Garing couldn't finish the play. A hard shot 13 in the game by Anthony Tupman from a close distance when the talented Roger Wood managed to make a qualified save. Excelsior FC's players were relieved. Murphy Garing fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Roger Wood having to interfere. The supporters of Excelsior FC booed when Peipei United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rob Oreilly didn't get a good kick on the ball. 24 minutes in the game, Jason Atkin dribbled his way through the penalty area and after maneuvering past an opponent, drilled a quick shot at the goal. The ball looked like it was going in, but it was hit a bit too hard and flew over the goal. If Rudolph Kiel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Anthony Tupman sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 31 minutes into the match, Jason Atkin had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Edmund Podowski. Peipei United's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Jason Atkin was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. After a rather tough play, Peipei United's Cole Orr got a free kick in the 37th minute. Jake Laws hit a great freekick 39 minutes into the match. In the 42nd minute, Jason Atkin made a precise shot to the right of Edmund Podowski. Peipei United's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-2. 46 minutes into the game, Peipei United's Murphy Garing nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Roger Wood made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-2. Af the end of the first half the score was 3-2. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Peipei United's defense didn't have a chance, in the 53rd minute, when Jason Atkin scored to the left of an out of position Edmund Podowski, making the score, 3-3. Peipei United were furious when Dugald Crawford was red carded, 57 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. Edmund Podowski had in the 59thth minute some difficulties stopping Amos Sibbold's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. Anthony Tupman received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 62nd minute. Roger Wood tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 64th minute, Case Heberle hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jarrett Kennedy hit a great freekick 65 minutes into the match. Casper Woods fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Roger Wood having to interfere. Jason Atkin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Anthony Tupman's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Roger Wood read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 71st minute of play. If Rob Oreilly had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Roger Wood showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Anthony Tupman in the 73rd minute of the match. When Brye Pearce fell near the penalty area in the 74th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Excelsior FC's protests and gave Brye Pearce a yellow card for diving instead. Roger Wood made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Anthony Tupman in the 75th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Excelsior FC's zone, Rob Oreilly stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Roger Wood came out of the goal and Rob Oreilly tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Anthony Tupman had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 85th minute, Rudolph Kiel hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Rob Oreilly hit a great freekick 90 minutes into the match. In the 93rd minute Anthony Tupman shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Roger Wood saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Excelsior FC's Rudolph Kiel got a good chance for a goal in the 96th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Roger Wood showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Casper Woods in the 100th minute of the match. Peipei United were unable to convert their possession into goals, allowing Excelsior FC to leave the ground with a draw.
