The supporters of Sunshine Coast FC booed when Mollyspark Pumas was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 12 match minutes in a wonderful position. Aden Leydin didn't get a good kick on the ball. David Marcola took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Brant Mcneven, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Stew Eversden sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After 18 played minutes Sunshine Coast FC got a freekick which was hit by Ed Gummow. Sunshine Coast FC's Fletcher Terris proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 20th minute of the match, managed to save Sunshine Coast FC from getting a goal against them. 21 minutes into the game, Brant Mcneven cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. David Marcola was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Fletcher Terris showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Stew Eversden in the 27th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Sunshine Coast FC's zone, Larkins Pukallus stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Fletcher Terris came out of the goal and Larkins Pukallus tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Stew Eversden struck a weak shot in the 42nd minute. Fletcher Terris didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Mollyspark Pumas. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Brant Mcneven in the 44th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck David Marcola prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Brant Mcneven stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 54th minute, Larkins Pukallus got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 60th minute, Sunshine Coast FC's Bruce Glover seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Bruce Glover the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Sunshine Coast FC protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Bruce Glover had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. In the 60th minute, one of Sunshine Coast FC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Sunshine Coast FC. In the 63rd minute there was a penalty for Mollyspark Pumas. Allen Bailey stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Fletcher Terris. 1-3. 66 minutes into the match, Sunshine Coast FC's goal looked a bit too open when Larkins Pukallus came free, but Fletcher Terris reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Ed Gummow had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ronald Mcroberts took the ball and in the 72 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised David Marcola. David Marcola dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-4. If Ronald Mcroberts had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ronald Mcroberts struck a weak shot in the 80th minute. David Marcola didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Sunshine Coast FC. In the 83rd minute, Stew Eversden ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Fletcher Terris was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-4. The supporters of Sunshine Coast FC booed when Mollyspark Pumas was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 86 match minutes in a wonderful position. Aden Leydin didn't get a good kick on the ball. The Mollyspark Pumas supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Sunshine Coast FC's performance. The match ended with a win for Sunshine Coast FC.
