Howard Grieve's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Bert Edwards read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 8th minute of play. Tarraginnie's Sabastian Mackney played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Otto Kuskopf in the 9th minute of play. Nilson Copelins short, quick shot in the 17thth minute got Sabastian Mackney to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Bryan Swan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 18th minute. Bert Edwards tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Howard Grieve had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Sabastian Mackney was a little too slow when Otto Kuskopf got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 30th minute. The score was now 1-0. The crowd rose to their feet as Best Stevenson kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Sabastian Mackney. That made the score 2-0 in the 33 minute of play. Bert Edwards took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Howard Grieve, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 40th match minute, Catanzaro FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Best Stevenson to maneuver through the defense. Howard Grieve struck a weak shot in the 41st minute. Bert Edwards didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Tarraginnie. Sabastian Mackney made an important save on a dangerous shot by Nilson Copelin in the 50th minute. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Bryan Swan to make the kick off. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Otto Kuskopf in the 54th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Sabastian Mackney saved Tarraginnie from getting behind. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bryan Swan in the 60th minute of play forced Catanzaro FC's goalkeeper Bert Edwards to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 61stth minute of the game Otto Kuskopf who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Tarraginnie's Sabastian Mackney was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 67 minutes into the match, Catanzaro FC's goalkeeper Bert Edwards had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Bryan Swan. Sabastian Mackney showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nilson Copelin in the 68th minute of the match. Nilson Copelin scored 3-0 in the 75th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Sabastian Mackney, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After a rather tough play, Tarraginnie's Raymond Lester got a free kick in the 83rd minute. Myles Reiter took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 84th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Sabastian Mackney. Tarraginnie's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. After having played for 87 minutes, Bryan Swan managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Tarraginnie's supporters crossed their fingers, but Bryan Swan was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Nilson Copelin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sabastian Mackney having to interfere. Howard Grieve sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Tarraginnie booed when Catanzaro FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 94 match minutes in a wonderful position. Best Stevenson didn't get a good kick on the ball. Nilson Copelin might have been able to make a better finish in the 99th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Sabastian Mackney. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Nilson Copelin ran back to his position shaking his head.
