With a little luck, Nairne's Brock Hunn got control of the ball when Richard Loch tried to sneak it across the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jarrett Guy in the 9th minute of play forced AI FC's goalkeeper Darian Lenard to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Jarrett Guy had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 14 minutes into the match, AI FC's goal looked a bit too open when Milton Millgate came free, but Darian Lenard reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Richard Loch charged in rather forcefully in the 16th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Richard Loch the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 16 played minutes AI FC got a freekick which was hit by Richard Loch. Darian Lenard stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Jarrett Guy's shot from short distance in the 24th minute. Darian Lenard took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jarrett Guy, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 37th minute Jarrett Guy shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Darian Lenard saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Nairne's Earnest Park got a free kick in the 43rd minute. After recieving a nice pass, AI FC's Damian Meyers tried to score from far away in the 44th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. In the 48th minute, Richard Loch hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 49 played minutes, Nairne's Kris Magnay shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Darian Lenard came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Nairne reached it. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

In the 54th match minute, AI FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jeffers Lander to maneuver through the defense. Earnest Park blasted a shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Darian Lenard having to make a save. Brock Hunn showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Richard Loch in the 76th minute of the match. When Bernie Tarrant came up free with the goalie in the 84th minute, the AI FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Bernie Tarrant couldn't finish the play. Bernie Tarrant fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Brock Hunn having to interfere. Darian Lenard stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Jarrett Guy's shot from short distance in the 90th minute.
