In the 21st minute Keefer Samuels shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Russel Huther saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 26 minutes into the match, The Z Team's goalkeeper Russel Huther had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Cole Hollis. The Z Team's supporters crossed their fingers, but Downing Guy was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Patrick Breasley had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Downing Guy struck a weak shot in the 44th minute. Blade Knevett didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. Independiente's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave The Z Team the free kick. Keefer Samuels hit a great freekick 46 minutes into the match. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Braedan Raison was the one to do the kick off. The Z Team's Russel Huther played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Braedan Raison in the 54th minute of play.
