After 7 played minutes Highett got a freekick which was hit by Case Staggard. Cem Alyakut blasted a shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Nash Cuddihy having to make a save. The supporters of Taz´s soccer team booed when Highett was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 13 match minutes in a wonderful position. Chuck Garing didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 16th match minute, Taz´s soccer team was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bryden Trevena to maneuver through the defense. Cem Alyakut sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Nash Cuddihy took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lance Fitzsimmons, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 22nd minute, Lance Fitzsimmons left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Taz´s soccer team fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. Nash Cuddihy made an important save on a dangerous shot by Cem Alyakut in the 27th minute. Lance Fitzsimmons hit a great freekick 28 minutes into the match. In the 28th minute, Taz´s soccer team's Lance Fitzsimmons fired away a free kick that almost went in the goal. Nash Cuddihy was prepared for the shot, but didn't have to make a play as the shot flew over the goal. Cem Alyakut might have been able to make a better finish in the 30th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Nash Cuddihy. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Cem Alyakut ran back to his position shaking his head. Lance Fitzsimmons received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 35th minute, Lance Fitzsimmons managed to get in a good position for a shot. Taz´s soccer team's supporters rose to their feet, but Lance Fitzsimmons was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Nash Cuddihy breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Pete Warhurst hit a great freekick 38 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lance Fitzsimmons in the 39th minute of play forced Highett's goalkeeper Nash Cuddihy to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 43rd play minutes Lance Fitzsimmons shot 2-0, a short shot which went by Nash Cuddihy and just under the crossbar into goal.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Lance Fitzsimmons stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Taz´s soccer team's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Henry Hanslow in the 53rd minute. Henry Hanslow made a great header on Taz´s soccer team's corner, it was just that Highett's Nash Cuddihy managed to reach the ball for a save. After a defensive mix-up in Highett's zone, Lance Fitzsimmons stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nash Cuddihy came out of the goal and Lance Fitzsimmons tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Lance Fitzsimmons struck a weak shot in the 60th minute. Nash Cuddihy didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Taz´s soccer team. After a defensive mix-up in Highett's zone, Cem Alyakut stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nash Cuddihy came out of the goal and Cem Alyakut tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Loud Quinnell sent away a hard shot on goal in the 67th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 70th minute of the match, Barth Maunsell tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Álvaro Montero saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. After some fancy dribbling in the 76th minute, Lance Fitzsimmons managed to get in a good position for a shot. Taz´s soccer team's supporters rose to their feet, but Lance Fitzsimmons was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. In the 93rd minute Lance Fitzsimmons shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nash Cuddihy saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
