Chuck Garing kicked well hit freekick during the 18th minute of the match. With a little luck, Blackened FC's Sam Behla got control of the ball when Laurence Foley tried to sneak it across the goal line. Russel Freel's late challenge caught a Highett's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Russel Freel helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Blackened FC's Russel Freel got a free kick in the 26th minute. Nash Cuddihy took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Allen Hogan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a defensive mix-up in Highett's zone, Jerrard Simpson stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nash Cuddihy came out of the goal and Jerrard Simpson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Jack Park received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. Nash Cuddihy tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Laurence Foley fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sam Behla having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jerrard Simpson in the 34th minute of play forced Highett's goalkeeper Nash Cuddihy to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Andy Howarth fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nash Cuddihy having to interfere. Laurence Foley fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sam Behla having to interfere. 47 minutes into the game, Case Staggard was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Highett's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Blackened FC the free kick. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Laurence Foley made a kick off. After 53 minutes of play, Highett's Laurence Foley made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Sam Behla was left in no man's land by his defense there! Allen Hogan's late challenge caught a Highett's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Allen Hogan helped the player get up and apologised. In the 61st match minute, Blackened FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Allen Hogan to maneuver through the defense. Jerrard Simpson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 70th minute. Nash Cuddihy tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 72nd minute, Andy Howarth managed to get in a good position for a shot. Blackened FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Andy Howarth was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Nash Cuddihy breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Jerrard Simpson's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 75thth minute, Nash Cuddihy skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. A collision led to Blackened FC getting a freekick after 76 minutes play. Allen Hogan hit a great ball. Blackened FC's Sam Behla played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Laurence Foley in the 81st minute of play. Jack Park was extremely unlucky when he, in the 83rd minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Sam Behla made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Laurence Foley in the 90th minute of play. Laurence Foley struck a weak shot in the 91st minute. Sam Behla didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Highett. Sam Behla showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Laurence Foley, who was totally free with the ball in the 92nd minute. During the 93rd minute of the match Allen Hogan completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Allen Hogan a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. Highett succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though Blackened FC had controlled the match.
