Spectators: 7885 (Terracing: 6020, Seating: 1845, VIP seats: 20) North Melbourne's Calvin Dalglish started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Arne Carragher hit a great freekick 2 minutes into the match. 3 minutes into the match, North Melbourne's goal looked a bit too open when Patrick Breasley came free, but James Ritter reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a little luck, The Z Team's Russel Huther got control of the ball when Jesse Pfingst tried to sneak it across the goal line. Humphry Couzens hit a great freekick 7 minutes into the match. If Brandon Maciver had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 10th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Downing Guy took the ball and in the 12 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised James Ritter. James Ritter dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. North Melbourne's James Ritter played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Patrick Breasley in the 15th minute of play. When The Z Team's Downing Guy in the 27th minute got a chance for a shot 27th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye North Melbourne's goalie prevented a goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 29th minute, Patrick Breasley managed to get in a good position for a shot. The Z Team's supporters rose to their feet, but Patrick Breasley was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. James Ritter breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Downing Guy succeeded in the game's 30th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 0-2. James Ritter took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Downing Guy, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the match had gone on for 39 minutes, Calvin Dalglish took a quick shot and it went in 1-2 without a chance for Russel Huther to make any attempt to save it. After the first half The Z Team were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

In the 52nd minute, Calvin Dalglish made a precise shot to the right of Russel Huther. The Z Team's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-2. Brandon Maciver in the 55thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of James Ritter, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Jesse Pfingst fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Russel Huther having to interfere. Russel Huther stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Jesse Pfingst's shot from short distance in the 63rd minute. Russel Huther made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jesse Pfingst in the 67th minute of play. In the 68th minute, Alvin Argoud hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to The Z Team getting a freekick after 70 minutes play. Brandon Maciver hit a great ball. Thomas Nolan hit a great freekick 72 minutes into the match. In the 73rd minute of the match Carlton Wenham shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but James Ritter showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Brandon Maciver received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 75th minute. James Ritter tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 78 minutes into the match, North Melbourne's goalkeeper James Ritter had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Downing Guy. Russel Huther made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jesse Pfingst in the 82nd minute of play. 83 minutes into the match, Jesse Pfingst notched a goal, 3-2, to the right of The Z Team's Russel Huther. Russel Huther was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Hans Teuma kicked well hit freekick during the 87th minute of the match. Calvin Dalglish fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Russel Huther having to interfere. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The North Melbourne fans cheered their team off the field, for while The Z Team had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
