The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Bryan Haberle charged in rather forcefully in the 14th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Bryan Haberle the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Matthias Digiuseppe took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Laurence Foley, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Nash Cuddihy tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 38 minutes into the match, Oracle FC's Lawrance Awege sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Nash Cuddihy narrowly saved just below the crossbar. A hard shot 39 in the game by Nichol Greenbank from a close distance when the talented Nash Cuddihy managed to make a qualified save. Highett's players were relieved. Nash Cuddihy made a fantastic save in the 40th minute, when Nichol Greenbank sent off a good shot on target. 42 minutes into the match, Highett's goal looked a bit too open when Lawrance Awege came free, but Nash Cuddihy reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Lawrance Awege made a kick off. Lawrance Awege sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Nash Cuddihy made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lawrance Awege in the 56th minute of play. Nash Cuddihy showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nichol Greenbank, who was totally free with the ball in the 56th minute. Barth Maunsell received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Matthias Digiuseppe came out and tried to block the shot, but Barth Maunsell slotted it home off the left post making it 0-1 in the 60th minute. Lawrance Awege struck a weak shot in the 69th minute. Nash Cuddihy didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Oracle FC. Laurence Foleys short, quick shot in the 77thth minute got Matthias Digiuseppe to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. If Lawrance Awege had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Nash Cuddihy made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lawrance Awege in the 82nd minute of play. Matthias Digiuseppe showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Everitt Schultz, who was totally free with the ball in the 84th minute. Everitt Schultz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 87th minute.
