The supporters of Beachlands FC booed when Jimmy Pizza was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 3 match minutes in a wonderful position. Case Cootes didn't get a good kick on the ball. Earnest Trezise struck a weak shot in the 4th minute. Boris Wang didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Beachlands FC. Irving Lander received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 6th minute. Neale Peplow tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 8 minutes into the match, Beachlands FC's goalkeeper Neale Peplow had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Irving Lander. After 11 played minutes Beachlands FC got a freekick which was hit by Edwards Millgate. Damian Byrnes was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 11th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Carsyn Phillips during the 14th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Carsyn Phillips hit a great freekick 14 minutes into the match. In the 15th minute, Carsyn Phillips hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Neale Peplow showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kevin Carragher, who was totally free with the ball in the 16th minute. After a rather tough play, Beachlands FC's Carsyn Phillips got a free kick in the 18th minute. In the 19th match minute, Jimmy Pizza was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kevin Carragher to maneuver through the defense. In the 22nd minute, Beachlands FC's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Irving Lander fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. The audience thought a goal was coming when Irving Lander got free with Neale Peplow in the 24th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 30th match minute, Jimmy Pizza was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Damian Byrnes to maneuver through the defense. Earnest Trezise might have been able to make a better finish in the 32nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Boris Wang. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Earnest Trezise ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 38th minute, Kevin Carragher got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 39th minute, Edwards Millgate hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a little luck, Beachlands FC's Neale Peplow got control of the ball when Irving Lander tried to sneak it across the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Case Cootes in the 48th minute of play forced Beachlands FC's goalkeeper Neale Peplow to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Earnest Trezise stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Neale Peplow showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Irving Lander, who was totally free with the ball in the 55th minute. In the 66th minute, Kevin Carragher left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Jimmy Pizza fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. If Irving Lander had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Earnest Trezise could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 73rd minute of the match, but Boris Wang made a huge save. 77 minutes in the game, the ball went up into the seats when Beachlands FC's Earnest Trezise fired away a shot that was just a little bit too high. He walked away shaking his head. After a rather tough play, Beachlands FC's Russel Glover got a free kick in the 79th minute. Kevin Carragher's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Neale Peplow read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 84th minute of play. Kevin Carragher fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Neale Peplow having to interfere. Jackson Quinn's late challenge caught a Beachlands FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jackson Quinn helped the player get up and apologised. Boris Wang made an important save on a dangerous shot by Earnest Trezise in the 92nd minute. Irving Lander fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Neale Peplow having to interfere. For all the effort they put into the match, the Beachlands FC players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Jimmy Pizza.
