Dean Smoothy took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bran Whittington, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Allen Lucas, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 18 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Dean Smoothy was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. A collision led to Gurulmundi getting a freekick after 20 minutes play. Rodney Loch hit a great ball. Randall Anders in the 25thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Navarro Duggan, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Allen Lucas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dean Smoothy having to interfere. Dean Smoothy showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Allen Lucas, who was totally free with the ball in the 29th minute. Allen Lucas might have been able to make a better finish in the 32nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Dean Smoothy. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Allen Lucas ran back to his position shaking his head. Bran Whittington sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Edwin Lander during the 35th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 35th minute, Edwin Lander hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After having played for 36 minutes, Allen Lucas managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Gurulmundi's supporters crossed their fingers, but Allen Lucas was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Brandon Brennan to make the kick off. Allen Lucas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dean Smoothy having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Gurulmundi's Rodney Loch got a free kick in the 55th minute. Bundaberg RUMblers's Rodney Porteus couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 56th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Gurulmundi. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bran Whittington in the 60th minute of play forced Bundaberg RUMblers's goalkeeper Dean Smoothy to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Bundaberg RUMblers's Dean Smoothy played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bran Whittington in the 62nd minute of play. The supporters of Gurulmundi booed when Bundaberg RUMblers was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 66 match minutes in a wonderful position. Remington Willison didn't get a good kick on the ball. Allen Lucas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dean Smoothy having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Allen Lucas got free with Dean Smoothy in the 69th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. If Bran Whittington had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Dean Smoothy stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Bran Whittington's shot from short distance in the 80th minute. The audience was convinced that Bran Whittington's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Dean Smoothy was relentless in the 82nd minute of the game. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Bran Whittington in the 85th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Dean Smoothy saved Bundaberg RUMblers from getting behind. Dean Smoothy made an important save on a dangerous shot by Allen Lucas in the 87th minute. Bran Whittington fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dean Smoothy having to interfere. Allen Lucas could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 95th minute of the match, but Dean Smoothy made a huge save. When Gurulmundi's Bran Whittington in the 97th minute got a chance for a shot 97th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Bundaberg RUMblers's goalie prevented a goal. Gurulmundi's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
