The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After 5 minutes, Phenix Trims mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Hop Skip Jump and the Telita players grew even worse after the yellow card. Phenix Trims kicked well hit freekick during the 5th minute of the match. Telita's Arthur Aylwin got a good chance for a goal in the 9th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 10 minutes into the game, Lawrance Will was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Hop Skip Jump's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Telita the free kick. After 10 played minutes Hop Skip Jump got a freekick which was hit by Lawrance Will. Philip Staggard hit a great freekick 15 minutes into the match. Hop Skip Jump's Artie Mckay couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 16th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Telita. Arthur Aylwin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Telita's Andrews Barling played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Damon Sanderson in the 26th minute of play. Arthur Aylwin received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Jess Turnbull came out and tried to block the shot, but Arthur Aylwin slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 27th minute. The audience was convinced that Arthur Aylwin's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jess Turnbull was relentless in the 32nd minute of the game. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dagan Mcvicar in the 35th minute of play forced Telita's goalkeeper Andrews Barling to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jayden Dowsing fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Andrews Barling having to interfere. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Damon Sanderson made a kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 53rd minute, Dagan Mcvicar managed to get in a good position for a shot. Hop Skip Jump's supporters rose to their feet, but Dagan Mcvicar was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Andrews Barling breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. With a little luck, Telita's Andrews Barling got control of the ball when Dagan Mcvicar tried to sneak it across the goal line. When Ollie Obree fell near the penalty area in the 70th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Hop Skip Jump's protests and gave Ollie Obree a yellow card for diving instead.
