To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Shenhua FC - Real Madrid's Robert Tauschke got a good chance for a goal in the 15th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Dario Kile fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Darrell Oconnell having to interfere. 20 minutes into the match, Shenhua FC - Real Madrid's goal looked a bit too open when Danny Awage came free, but Art Surman reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Niles Dale fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Darrell Oconnell having to interfere. Through an outstanding action, after 25 minutes, Darrell Oconnell successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. When Robert Tauschke came up free with the goalie in the 29th minute, the Shenhua FC - Real Madrid fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Robert Tauschke couldn't finish the play. The crowd rose to their feet as Shenhua FC - Real Madrid's Robert Tauschke slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Darrell Oconnell. That made the score 2-0 after 32 minutes of play. 37 minutes into the match, Glendart's Nelson Scalzo broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. Dario Kile might have been able to make a better finish in the 43rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Darrell Oconnell. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Dario Kile ran back to his position shaking his head. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

When Rudolph Missen fell near the penalty area in the 52nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Glendart's protests and gave Rudolph Missen a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Glendart's Rudolph Missen got a free kick in the 53rd minute. 54 minutes into the match, Dario Kile had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Darrell Oconnell. Glendart's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Dario Kile was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-0. Darrell Oconnell showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dario Kile, who was totally free with the ball in the 57th minute. Brown Virgin could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 61st minute of the match, but Art Surman made a huge save. If Dario Kile had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Darrell Oconnell made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Robert Tauschke in the 69th minute of play.
