But to his dismay, Arneil Porteus quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. 18 minutes into the match, Magpies's goal looked a bit too open when Arneil Porteus came free, but Neville Bostock reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ian Atkin's late challenge caught a Magpies's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ian Atkin helped the player get up and apologised. In the 20th minute, Ian Atkin hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 21 minutes, Belton Colman mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Inactive Team and the Magpies players grew even worse after the yellow card. Belton Colman kicked well hit freekick during the 21st minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Inactive Team's zone, Kirk Delbridge stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Paz Coburn came out of the goal and Kirk Delbridge tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 26 minutes into the game, one of Magpies:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. In the 28th minute there was a penalty for Inactive Team. Bryden Hess stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Neville Bostock. 0-2. Phil Gorham fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Paz Coburn having to interfere. Inactive Team's Belton Colman got his second yellow card of the match in the 34th minute. The referee ordered Belton Colman off the ground. In the 34th match minute, Inactive Team was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Belton Colman to maneuver through the defense. After 36 played minutes Magpies got a freekick which was hit by Kirk Delbridge. When Phil Gorham came up free with the goalie in the 37th minute, the Magpies fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Phil Gorham couldn't finish the play. After 39 minutes, Bryson Colling mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Magpies and the Inactive Team players grew even worse after the yellow card. When Randall Staggard came up free with the goalie in the 42nd minute, the Inactive Team fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Randall Staggard couldn't finish the play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Byrne Czaczka during the 45th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Inactive Team's Byrne Czaczka got a free kick in the 45th minute. Randall Staggard charged in rather forcefully in the 48th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Randall Staggard the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 48th match minute, Inactive Team was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Randall Staggard to maneuver through the defense. Kirk Delbridge scored 1-2 in the 49th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Paz Coburn, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-2 lead.

In the 62nd minute Phil Gorham shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Paz Coburn saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Inactive Team's supporters rose to their feet, but Arneil Porteus was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Neville Bostock breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Phil Gorham sent away a hard shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Paz Coburn showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kirk Delbridge in the 73rd minute of the match. Magpies's Neville Bostock proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 97th minute of the match, managed to save Magpies from getting a goal against them.
