In the 3rd minute, Earl Scalzo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Barney Locke made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Birrell Mitchell in the 5th minute of play. Earl Scalzo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 6th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 10 minutes into the match Nichol Waterland climbed in front of goal and pressed up 1-0 in the right cross behind a totally surprised Burns Deal. Hawthorn FC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 16th minute, when Earl Scalzo scored to the left of an out of position Burns Deal, making the score, 2-0. In the 23rd match minute, Hawthorn FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Brandon Copelin to maneuver through the defense. When the match had gone on for 32 minutes, Earl Scalzo put it in 4-0 from a short distance just to the right of Burns Deal. Rodd Frew might have been able to make a better finish in the 35th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Burns Deal. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Rodd Frew ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 37th match minute, Hawthorn FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luck Day to maneuver through the defense. In the 40th minute of the match Alexander Smoothey sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Burns Deal skillfully saved the ball. In the 42nd minute, Luck Day hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.

After some fancy dribbling in the 53rd minute, Payne Roach managed to get in a good position for a shot. Hawthorn FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Payne Roach was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Barney Locke breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Payne Roach succeeded in the game's 55th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 5-1. Birrell Mitchell who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 59thth minute tested the skills of Barney Locke when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Nichol Waterland scored 6-1 in the 62nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Burns Deal, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Earl Scalzo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Burns Deal read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 65th minute of play. When Jess Andrews fell near the penalty area in the 71st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Hawthorn FC's protests and gave Jess Andrews a yellow card for diving instead. In the 71st match minute, Hawthorn FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jess Andrews to maneuver through the defense. Burns Deal made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nichol Waterland in the 75th minute of play. Hawthorn FC's Burns Deal played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Earl Scalzo in the 76th minute of play. If Earl Scalzo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 82nd minute of the match, Payne Roach tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Barney Locke saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Barney Locke made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Payne Roach in the 86th minute of play. Luck Day hit a great freekick 91 minutes into the match. After recieving a nice pass, DisOrient FC's Alexander Smoothey tried to score from far away in the 92nd minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Jess Andrews was shown his second yellow card after 93 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. In the 94th match minute, Hawthorn FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jess Andrews to maneuver through the defense.
