When Rick Dobbing fell near the penalty area in the 17th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored DisOrient FC's protests and gave Rick Dobbing a yellow card for diving instead. After 18 played minutes DisOrient FC got a freekick which was hit by Rick Dobbing. In the 19th match minute, DisOrient FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rodd Frew to maneuver through the defense. Kirk Delbridge struck a weak shot in the 21st minute. Barney Locke didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Magpies. The supporters of DisOrient FC booed when Magpies was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Edmonds Hursey didn't get a good kick on the ball. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Phil Gorham stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Magpies's supporters crossed their fingers, but Phil Gorham was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Phil Gorham had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Kirk Delbridge fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Barney Locke having to interfere. 60 minutes into the game, Alexander Smoothey was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. DisOrient FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Magpies the free kick. Kirk Delbridge succeeded in the game's 63rd minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 0-1. Neville Bostock showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Earl Scalzo, who was totally free with the ball in the 73rd minute. Phil Gorham sent away a hard shot on goal in the 75th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With his leg Barney Locke managed to avoid a goal in the 82ndth minute, when Magpies's Kirk Delbridge fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Phil Gorham received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 85th minute. Barney Locke tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 95th minute, Kirk Delbridge got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Magpies's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
