Spectators: 6856 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1856, VIP seats: 0) PEI United's Carsyn Ashwin started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 3 minutes into the game, Jarrett Schutt was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. PEI United's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Gulginni the free kick. A collision led to PEI United getting a freekick after 3 minutes play. Jarrett Schutt hit a great ball. In the 7th minute, Todd Glover left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The PEI United fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Aden Lawson kicked well hit freekick during the 15th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Gulginni's zone, Todd Glover stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Brendan Hunter came out of the goal and Todd Glover tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Brendan Hunter showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Carsyn Ashwin, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. When Loud Deeth fell near the penalty area in the 27th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Gulginni's protests and gave Loud Deeth a yellow card for diving instead. Loud Deeth kicked well hit freekick during the 27th minute of the match. 28 minutes into the match, Gulginni's goal looked a bit too open when Carsyn Ashwin came free, but Brendan Hunter reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 30th minute Carsyn Ashwin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Brendan Hunter saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 31 minutes in the game, the ball went up into the seats when PEI United's Carsyn Ashwin fired away a shot that was just a little bit too high. He walked away shaking his head. If Todd Glover had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Carsyn Ashwin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Todd Glover recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 35th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Carsyn Ashwin in the 38th minute of play forced Gulginni's goalkeeper Brendan Hunter to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. PEI United's Pearce Legg got a good chance for a goal in the 42nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Brendan Hunter took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Todd Glover, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Todd Glover sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Carsyn Ashwin's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Brendan Hunter read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 47th minute of play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Loud Deeth made a kick off. After a defensive mix-up in Gulginni's zone, Carsyn Ashwin stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Brendan Hunter came out of the goal and Carsyn Ashwin tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 58 minutes into the match, Gulginni's goal looked a bit too open when Todd Glover came free, but Brendan Hunter reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Carsyn Ashwin's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Brendan Hunter read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 62nd minute of play. A collision led to Gulginni getting a freekick after 67 minutes play. Loud Deeth hit a great ball. Jarrett Schutt lost his temper 70 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. The referee gave Gulginni a penalty, 72 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Bernard Tupman, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of PEI United's Neale Peach. 1-2. Marshall Sobezak recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 82nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Carsyn Ashwin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Brendan Hunter having to interfere. Gulginni's Aden Lawson suffered a sore thigh after 90 minutes and couldn't finish the game. After 90 minutes, Marshall Sobezak mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the PEI United and the Gulginni players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of PEI United booed when Gulginni was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 98 match minutes in a wonderful position. Barnes Haeberle didn't get a good kick on the ball. PEI United's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
