Kris Brophy made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luck Bailey in the 7th minute of play. With an all-out effort, Southern DeShaun's Kris Brophy threw himself towards the right post 8 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Adolfo Trevena, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Luck Bailey sent away a hard shot on goal in the 10th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Luck Bailey might have been able to make a better finish in the 12th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Kris Brophy. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Luck Bailey ran back to his position shaking his head. Backpacker FC's Kris Brophy played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luck Bailey in the 12th minute of play. 14 minutes into the match, Luck Bailey dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Kris Brophy, 1-0. After having played for 18 minutes, Justin Hunn managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Backpacker FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Justin Hunn was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Samuel Pack showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Justin Hunn, who was totally free with the ball in the 20th minute. Kane Hardiman struck a weak shot in the 24th minute. Samuel Pack didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Backpacker FC. After 26 minutes, Rufus Oshea mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Southern DeShaun and the Backpacker FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In a very dangerous position, a player in Southern DeShaun fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 26th minute. Penalty! In the 28th minute there was a penalty for Backpacker FC. Bernard Sennett stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Samuel Pack. 1-1. Case Orvad kicked well hit freekick during the 30th minute of the match. Kris Brophy showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Adolfo Trevena, who was totally free with the ball in the 40th minute. Downing Heathwood fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Samuel Pack having to interfere. Samuel Pack took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Downing Heathwood, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The audience thought a goal was coming when Downing Heathwood got free with Samuel Pack in the 55th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Luck Bailey sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Luck Bailey fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kris Brophy having to interfere. 75 minutes into the game, Handley Greenbank was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Backpacker FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Southern DeShaun the free kick. After a rather tough play, Backpacker FC's Handley Greenbank got a free kick in the 75th minute. Kris Brophy stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Luck Bailey's shot from short distance in the 77th minute. Brye Coburn's late challenge caught a Southern DeShaun's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Brye Coburn helped the player get up and apologised. Brye Coburn hit a great freekick 78 minutes into the match. In the 83rd minute, Bernard Sennett hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 86 played minutes Southern DeShaun got a freekick which was hit by Case Orvad. In the 87th minute of the match Bernard Sennett shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Samuel Pack showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
