GGS FC's Adesa Gaekwad played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Carlos Keam in the 5th minute of play. 19 minutes into the match, Sydney FC's goal looked a bit too open when Remington Conlin came free, but Jarvis Collins reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 24 minutes into the match, GGS FC's goal looked a bit too open when Darell Prior came free, but Adesa Gaekwad reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 27 minutes, Jamese Reisz mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the GGS FC and the Sydney FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 28 played minutes GGS FC got a freekick which was hit by Jamese Reisz. An unexpectedly hard shot by Remington Conlin in the 35th minute of play forced Sydney FC's goalkeeper Jarvis Collins to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 37 minutes into the game, Darell Prior was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Sydney FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave GGS FC the free kick. After 37 played minutes Sydney FC got a freekick which was hit by Darell Prior. Carlos Keam took the ball and in the 39 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Adesa Gaekwad. Adesa Gaekwad dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. Adesa Gaekwad came out of the goal in the 43rd minute to try and stop a shot by Sydney FC's Carlos Keam. But to his dismay, Carlos Keam quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. After a rather tough play, Sydney FC's Andrews Bonison got a free kick in the 48th minute. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Jarvis Collins showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Remington Conlin, who was totally free with the ball in the 69th minute. In the 78th minute Christan Ronald shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jarvis Collins saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Sydney FC's zone, Christan Ronald stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jarvis Collins came out of the goal and Christan Ronald tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 88th match minute, Sydney FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Darell Prior to maneuver through the defense. Ren Convine sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Chants of Sydney FC echoed around the stadium as the match drew to a close. Supporters and players were both delighted with the win, as GGS FC had held the ball for most of the match.
