Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Corey Leydin started the match with the kick off. 11 minutes into the match, Soupers's goalkeeper Dean Telfer had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Carson Aroege. The crowd rose to their feet as Sydney Rockets's Corey Leydin slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Dean Telfer. That made the score 1-0 after 15 minutes of play. Donovan Pfingst received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 21st minute. Arnie Howie tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Alfred Carlisle lost his temper 28 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. In a very dangerous position, a player in Soupers fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 27th minute. Penalty! Soupers's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Casper Berresford 43 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 4-0. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 4-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Humphry Knaack stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd minute, Humphry Knaack hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Humphry Knaack in the 56th minute of play forced Sydney Rockets's goalkeeper Arnie Howie to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Dean Telfer made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Carson Aroege in the 58th minute of play. Dean Telfer took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Carson Aroege, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Humphry Knaack sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 67th minute, Neil Gorham ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Dean Telfer was frozen by the shot and now it was 6-0. Brynn Rummens received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 72nd minute. Dean Telfer tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 74th minute, Neil Gorham ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Dean Telfer was frozen by the shot and now it was 7-0. In the 76thth minute of the game Neil Gorham who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Soupers's Dean Telfer was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Casper Berresford hit a great freekick 78 minutes into the match. A collision led to Sydney Rockets getting a freekick after 81 minutes play. Loud Wharton hit a great ball. If Grant Frew had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 86 minutes into the match, Neil Gorham notched a goal, 8-0, to the right of Soupers's Dean Telfer. Dean Telfer was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. When Neil Gorham came up free with the goalie in the 90th minute, the Sydney Rockets fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Neil Gorham couldn't finish the play. The supporters of Sydney Rockets booed when Soupers was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 91 match minutes in a wonderful position. Grant Frew didn't get a good kick on the ball. Soupers's Dean Telfer played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Loud Wharton in the 93rd minute of play. Dean Telfer made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Corey Leydin in the 95th minute of play. Sydney Rockets were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Soupers for a fine match.
