Henry Hinwood came out of the goal and Fleming Connolly tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After a rather tough play, KDC United's Kent Hanlen got a free kick in the 40th minute. After 41 minutes, Fleming Connolly mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the KDC United and the Kooringal players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 41st minute, one of KDC United:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for KDC United.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Adolph Magrath to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd match minute, Kooringal was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Angelo Adair to maneuver through the defense. Henry Hinwood was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Adolph Magrath showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-1 in the 54 minute of play. The crowd rose to their feet as KDC United's Adolph Magrath slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Henry Hinwood. That made the score 1-2 after 57 minutes of play. Edwin Saisell fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Henry Hinwood having to interfere. Bert Whatman sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the match had gone on for 67 minutes, Bert Whatman put it in 2-2 from a short distance just to the right of Payne Mills. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bert Whatman in the 72nd minute of play forced KDC United's goalkeeper Payne Mills to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 95th minute Kent Hanlen suffered a thigh injury and had to be helped off the field. 95 minutes into the game, Kenneth Day was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Kooringal's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave KDC United the free kick. Kenneth Day kicked well hit freekick during the 96th minute of the match. KDC United were unable to convert their possession into goals, allowing Kooringal to leave the ground with a draw.
