Seating: 1841, VIP seats: 0) Ryan Bowman made the kick off and thus started the match. After a rather tough play, Kewell's Jordon Smoothey got a free kick in the 2nd minute. In the 8th match minute, Kewell was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Matthews Cubitt to maneuver through the defense. In the 9th minute of the match Christian Sparrow sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Carter Glover skillfully saved the ball. 14 minutes into the match, Kewell's goal looked a bit too open when Grant Bowen came free, but Carter Glover reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Kewell's Baxter Adair got a good chance for a goal in the 18th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Earlston's zone, Baxter Adair stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Edmonds Hands came out of the goal and Baxter Adair tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Carter Glover made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Danton Lawrence in the 28th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Baxter Adair got free with Edmonds Hands in the 32nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After a rather tough play, Earlston's Damon Barugh got a free kick in the 32nd minute. Kewell's Ryan Bowman managed to work through Earlston's defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. Ryan Bowman dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in. Aron Bower kicked well hit freekick during the 34th minute of the match. Ryan Bowman fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Edmonds Hands having to interfere. When Ryan Bowman came up free with the goalie in the 38th minute, the Kewell fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ryan Bowman couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Brendan Cusbert in the 43rd minute of play forced Kewell's goalkeeper Carter Glover to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Carter Glover came out of the goal in the 45th minute to try and stop a shot by Earlston's Danton Lawrence. But to his dismay, Danton Lawrence quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Danton Lawrence made a kick off. Kewell's Carter Glover proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 54th minute of the match, managed to save Kewell from getting a goal against them. Ryan Bowman received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 59th minute. Edmonds Hands tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Kewell's Jordon Smoothey got a free kick in the 61st minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Brendan Cusbert got free with Carter Glover in the 62nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Ryan Bowman received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 64th minute. Edmonds Hands tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ryan Bowman in the 70th minute of play forced Earlston's goalkeeper Edmonds Hands to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ryan Bowman struck a weak shot in the 74th minute. Edmonds Hands didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Kewell. Baxter Adair sent away a hard shot on goal in the 75th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Baxter Adair fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Edmonds Hands having to interfere. Edmonds Hands stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ryan Bowman's shot from short distance in the 82nd minute. Edmonds Hands showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ryan Bowman, who was totally free with the ball in the 84th minute. When Aron Bower fell near the penalty area in the 87th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Earlston's protests and gave Aron Bower a yellow card for diving instead. After 88 played minutes Earlston got a freekick which was hit by Aron Bower. Edmonds Hands showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ryan Bowman in the 90th minute of the match. If Baxter Adair had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
