With a little luck, Moliagul's Lance Coleman got control of the ball when Pierre Starling tried to sneak it across the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Welland's zone, Reginald Jury stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Burt Rafferty came out of the goal and Reginald Jury tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Reginald Jury fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Burt Rafferty having to interfere. When Neale Bridson came up free with the goalie in the 32nd minute, the Welland fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Neale Bridson couldn't finish the play. Davey Giddey kicked well hit freekick during the 33rd minute of the match. During the 40th minute of the match Bryan Reiter completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Bryan Reiter a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. A collision led to Welland getting a freekick after 41 minutes play. Bryan Reiter hit a great ball. 45 minutes into the game, Neale Bridson was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Welland's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Moliagul the free kick. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Reginald Jury to make the kick off. In the 56th match minute, Welland was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gregg Laughton to maneuver through the defense. Burt Rafferty made a fantastic save in the 69th minute, when Boyde Shearn sent off a good shot on target. If Reginald Jury had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. After 97 minutes of play, Moliagul's Boyde Shearn made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Burt Rafferty was left in no man's land by his defense there! Moliagul's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
