In the 12th minute Paz Arkinstall shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ian Giles saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Barney Aliendi during the 17th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Benson Virgin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ian Locke, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. Ian Giles made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Paz Arkinstall in the 25th minute of play. 27 minutes into the match, 69ers's goal looked a bit too open when Kyle Paull came free, but Ian Giles reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as 69ers's Barney Aliendi slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Benson Virgin. That made the score 1-0 after 29 minutes of play. 32 minutes into the match, MXW UNITED's Kyle Paull sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ian Giles narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Hans Virgin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 40 minutes into the game, Quincy Winkless was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. MXW UNITED's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave 69ers the free kick. 40 minutes into the game, one of MXW UNITED:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. When the match had been going on for 43 minutes, 69ers's Roland Inwood got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Benson Virgin. After 45 played minutes 69ers got a freekick which was hit by Ian Locke. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Barney Aliendi made the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute, MXW UNITED's Ernest Zalunardo seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Ernest Zalunardo the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of MXW UNITED protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Ernest Zalunardo had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. In the 52nd minute, one of MXW UNITED:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for MXW UNITED. In the 55th minute there was a penalty for 69ers. Roland Inwood stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Benson Virgin. 4-0. The audience was convinced that Hans Virgin's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Benson Virgin was relentless in the 59th minute of the game. Benson Virgin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hans Virgin, who was totally free with the ball in the 61st minute. The supporters of 69ers booed when MXW UNITED was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 61 match minutes in a wonderful position. Donovan Mackney didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 65 played minutes MXW UNITED got a freekick which was hit by Quincy Winkless. Roland Inwood was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 66th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. 71 minutes into the game, Barney Aliendi cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 5-0. Benson Virgin was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. When Kyle Paull came up free with the goalie in the 78th minute, the MXW UNITED fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Kyle Paull couldn't finish the play. MXW UNITED's Ronald Cubitt got a good chance for a goal in the 83rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Barney Aliendi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Benson Virgin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hans Virgin, who was totally free with the ball in the 86th minute. In the 87thth minute of the game Barney Aliendi who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but MXW UNITED's Benson Virgin was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Barney Aliendi struck a weak shot in the 89th minute. Benson Virgin didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for 69ers. If Barney Aliendi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
