The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Barney Aliendi stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Hans Virgin who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 68thth minute tested the skills of Burt Rafferty when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Welland's Burt Rafferty played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Barney Aliendi in the 71st minute of play. In the 77th minute Ian Locke shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Burt Rafferty saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Barney Aliendi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 91st minute, Hans Virgin got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After having played for 92 minutes, Barney Aliendi managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. 69ers's supporters crossed their fingers, but Barney Aliendi was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 69ers's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
