The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After 2 minutes, Phil Forrest mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Gunyah and the Welland players grew even worse after the yellow card. Phil Forrest kicked well hit freekick during the 2nd minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Arthur Brading got free with Burt Rafferty in the 10th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Arthur Brandie in the 14th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Burt Rafferty prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Burt Rafferty showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Arthur Brading in the 15th minute of the match. 16 minutes into the match, Gunyah's goal looked a bit too open when Neale Bridson came free, but Dave Hislop reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Dave Hislop showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Neale Bridson, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. 25 minutes into the match, Welland's goal looked a bit too open when Arthur Brandie came free, but Burt Rafferty reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 27th minute Pierre Starling shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dave Hislop saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Arthur Brading succeeded in the game's 34th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 1-0. With a little luck, Welland's Burt Rafferty got control of the ball when Arthur Brading tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 40th minute the ball was on its way in behind Gunyah's goalkeeper Dave Hislop, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 40th minute, Jarvis Inwood hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Neale Bridson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dave Hislop having to interfere. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Arthur Brandie stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Arthur Brandie recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 52nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Gunyah's zone, Neale Bridson stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Dave Hislop came out of the goal and Neale Bridson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Burt Rafferty showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Arthur Brandie in the 58th minute of the match. In the 58th match minute, Welland was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Brooker Christina to maneuver through the defense. 60 minutes into the match, Arthur Brandie notched a goal, 2-0, to the right of Welland's Burt Rafferty. Burt Rafferty was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Burt Rafferty showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Arthur Brading, who was totally free with the ball in the 64th minute. Neale Bridson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 74th minute. Dave Hislop tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Pierre Starling had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 81st minute, Arthur Brading got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The audience was convinced that Arthur Brandie's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Burt Rafferty was relentless in the 83rd minute of the game. After 84 played minutes Welland got a freekick which was hit by Brooker Christina. When the match clock showed 88 minutes, the score became 3-0 when Arthur Brading sped through Welland's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Burt Rafferty. Brooker Christina's late challenge caught a Gunyah's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Brooker Christina helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Gunyah booed when Welland was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 94 match minutes in a wonderful position. Brooker Christina didn't get a good kick on the ball. Burt Rafferty took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Arthur Brandie, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Arthur Brading received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 97th minute. Burt Rafferty tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Gunyah fans cheered their team off the field, for while Welland had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
