Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Boyd Rutledge started the match with the kick off. 3 minutes into the game, one of Lucyvale:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. If Drew Adamson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 6th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 8th minute, Lucyvale's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Drew Adamson fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. 18 minutes into the match, Lucyvale's goal looked a bit too open when Drew Adamson came free, but Baxter Kuskoff reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Boyd Rutledge fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bray Caddick having to interfere. After 23 played minutes Newrybar got a freekick which was hit by Barry Sobezak. During the 26th minute of the match Quade Sparrow completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Quade Sparrow a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. The supporters of Newrybar booed when Lucyvale was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 27 match minutes in a wonderful position. Quade Sparrow didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 31stth minute of the game Drew Adamson who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Lucyvale's Baxter Kuskoff was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 35th minute Drew Adamson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Baxter Kuskoff saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Edmund Smee who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 36thth minute tested the skills of Baxter Kuskoff when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Drew Adamson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 41st minute. Baxter Kuskoff tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Drew Adamson in the 44th minute of play forced Lucyvale's goalkeeper Baxter Kuskoff to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 47th minute, Newrybar's Drew Adamson ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Baxter Kuskoff. Baxter Kuskoff yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

After a defensive mix-up in Lucyvale's zone, Edmund Smee stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Baxter Kuskoff came out of the goal and Edmund Smee tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Drew Adamson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 58 minutes into the match, Edmund Smee had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Baxter Kuskoff. Lucyvale's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Edmund Smee was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. After 66 played minutes Newrybar got a freekick which was hit by Barry Schutt. Drew Adamson's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Baxter Kuskoff read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 69th minute of play. In the 71st minute, Jasmine Turnor hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 72 played minutes Lucyvale got a freekick which was hit by Tom Barclay. Gregory Locke charged in rather forcefully in the 78th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Gregory Locke the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Lucyvale getting a freekick after 78 minutes play. Gregory Locke hit a great ball. In the 80th minute, Jasmine Turnor hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 82 minutes into the match, Lucyvale's goal looked a bit too open when Drew Adamson came free, but Baxter Kuskoff reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Edmund Smee sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Baxter Kuskoff showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Edmund Smee, who was totally free with the ball in the 86th minute. After 90 minutes, Edmund Smee made it 3-0 with a short kick to the right side. Lucyvale's Baxter Kuskoff tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Newrybar's Bray Caddick proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 95th minute of the match, managed to save Newrybar from getting a goal against them. Newrybar's Drew Adamson got a good chance for a goal in the 97th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Newrybar walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
