With a little luck, PeiPei United's Jarvis Johnson got control of the ball when Kale Bromfield tried to sneak it across the goal line. The supporters of North Geelong Warriors booed when PeiPei United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 9 match minutes in a wonderful position. Martyon Phasey didn't get a good kick on the ball. PeiPei United's Jarvis Johnson proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 10th minute of the match, managed to save PeiPei United from getting a goal against them. Quade Glover took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Martyon Phasey, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. James Pearson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After a defensive mix-up in PeiPei United's zone, Herman Freeman stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jarvis Johnson came out of the goal and Herman Freeman tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If James Pearson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Herman Freeman got free with Jarvis Johnson in the 21st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Herman Freeman who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 25thth minute tested the skills of Jarvis Johnson when he managed to save the team from getting behind. In the 84thth minute of the game Herman Freeman who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but PeiPei United's Jarvis Johnson was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 90th minute Martyon Phasey shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Quade Glover saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. North Geelong Warriors's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
