In the 10th minute the ball was on its way in behind Liverpool Allstars's goalkeeper Richard Weller, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. When Boyd Rutledge came up free with the goalie in the 12th minute, the Lucyvale fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Boyd Rutledge couldn't finish the play. If Boyd Rutledge had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alberto Tout in the 28th minute of play forced Lucyvale's goalkeeper Baxter Kuskoff to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Alberto Tout's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 37thth minute, Baxter Kuskoff skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Lucyvale's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Alberto Tout 40 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 2-0. After having played for 45 minutes, Henry Wadley managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Liverpool Allstars's supporters crossed their fingers, but Henry Wadley was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Richard Weller showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jasmine Turnor, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Boyd Rutledge to make the kick off. In the 57th minute, Alberto Tout got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Alberto Tout received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 59th minute. Baxter Kuskoff tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Boyd Rutledge came up free with the goalie in the 64th minute, the Lucyvale fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Boyd Rutledge couldn't finish the play. Richard Weller made a fantastic save in the 65th minute, when Jasmine Turnor sent off a good shot on target. If Alberto Tout had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Baxter Kuskoff made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alberto Tout in the 74th minute of play. The supporters of Liverpool Allstars booed when Lucyvale was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 77 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cain Quinnell didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Boyd Rutledge had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jasmine Turnor got free with Richard Weller in the 85th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort.
