Spectators: 7961 (Terracing: 5972, Seating: 1831, VIP seats: 158) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Alberto Tout started the match with the kick off. If Edmonds Salcedo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 4th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 10 played minutes Liverpool Allstars got a freekick which was hit by Dallas White. Kent Hess's late challenge caught a Poneke's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Kent Hess helped the player get up and apologised. Kent Hess hit a great freekick 11 minutes into the match. If Corey Tout had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 13th minute, one of Liverpool Allstars:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Liverpool Allstars. Poneke's Peter Reiter pulled a muscle in his back after 25 minutes and couldn't finish the game. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Alberto Tout during the 25th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Alberto Tout hit a great freekick 25 minutes into the match. Arne Prinsep received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. Richard Weller tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Edmonds Salcedo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 35th minute of the match, but Richard Weller made a huge save. Liverpool Allstars's Richard Weller proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 37th minute of the match, managed to save Liverpool Allstars from getting a goal against them. After having played for 40 minutes, Corey Tout managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Poneke's supporters crossed their fingers, but Corey Tout was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 44 minutes of play, Liverpool Allstars's Henry Wadley made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Payne Hinder was left in no man's land by his defense there! After a rather tough play, Liverpool Allstars's Kent Hess got a free kick in the 46th minute. After the first half Liverpool Allstars were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The audience thought a goal was coming when Henry Wadley got free with Payne Hinder in the 52nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 54 minutes into the match, Liverpool Allstars's goal looked a bit too open when Nick Coldicutt came free, but Richard Weller reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Liverpool Allstars booed when Poneke was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 56 match minutes in a wonderful position. Edmonds Salcedo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Payne Hinder came out of the goal in the 57th minute to try and stop a shot by Liverpool Allstars's Alberto Tout. But to his dismay, Alberto Tout quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-3. A sloppy throw-in by Art Fortington in the 63rd minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Poneke's Edmonds Salcedo. In the 69th minute of the match, Henry Wadley got a very nice opportunity to score, but Payne Hinder was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. 70 minutes into the match, Poneke's goal looked a bit too open when Alberto Tout came free, but Payne Hinder reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Poneke's Payne Hinder proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 76th minute of the match, managed to save Poneke from getting a goal against them. In the 78th minute of the match, Dallas White got a very nice opportunity to score, but Payne Hinder was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Dallas White recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 80th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 81 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Poneke! Jarrod Mcmillan shot the penalty kick right outside the post. In the 85th minute of the match, Dallas White got a very nice opportunity to score, but Payne Hinder was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Henry Wadley sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 91 minutes of play Liverpool Allstars's Kent Hess was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. Liverpool Allstars were delighted with the way they had won the match. They had held their defensive line well and made the most of their chances, to claim a victory over Poneke's much stronger midfield.
