Thanks to some nice moves Herman Freeman could shoot a difficult shot in the 9th minute, which Douglas Paull however easily saved by the left post. After a rather tough play, Gulginni's Brockman Bostock got a free kick in the 12th minute. James Pearson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. When the match had gone on for 29 minutes, Herman Freeman put it in 2-0 from a short distance just to the right of Douglas Paull. Douglas Paull made an important save on a dangerous shot by Herman Freeman in the 35th minute. Herman Freeman who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 37thth minute tested the skills of Douglas Paull when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Irrintzi Toribias short, quick shot in the 39thth minute got Douglas Paull to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. When Herman Freeman, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 44 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Douglas Paull was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. Irrintzi Toribia who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 46thth minute tested the skills of Douglas Paull when he managed to save the team from getting behind.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Herman Freeman was the one to do the kick off. After a defensive mix-up in North Geelong Warriors's zone, Howard Sylvester stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Quade Glover came out of the goal and Howard Sylvester tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Douglas Paull made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Brook Legg in the 55th minute of play. After a rather tough play, North Geelong Warriors's Irrintzi Toribia got a free kick in the 57th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 59th minute, Howard Sylvester managed to get in a good position for a shot. Gulginni's supporters rose to their feet, but Howard Sylvester was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Quade Glover breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Herman Freeman had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Gulginni's zone, James Pearson stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Douglas Paull came out of the goal and James Pearson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Herman Freeman came up free with the goalie in the 63rd minute, the North Geelong Warriors fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Herman Freeman couldn't finish the play. If Brook Legg had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Hale Nelson could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 73rd minute of the match, but Quade Glover made a huge save. In the 74th match minute, Gulginni was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Clark Plummer to maneuver through the defense. Herman Freeman received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 76th minute. Douglas Paull tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 77 played minutes Gulginni got a freekick which was hit by Brockman Bostock. Herman Freeman fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Douglas Paull having to interfere. Douglas Paull showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Herman Freeman in the 82nd minute of the match. In the 91st minute Herman Freeman shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Douglas Paull saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Irrintzi Toribia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. James Pearson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 95th minute. Douglas Paull tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the referee ended the match the North Geelong Warriors players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
