Ian Leydin's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Brian Greenan read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 8th minute of play. When the match clock showed 14 minutes, the score became 1-1 when Kirby Digiuseppe sped through Coningsby's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Brian Greenan. Chuck Shortus fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Brian Greenan having to interfere. Coningsby's Brian Greenan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kirby Digiuseppe in the 19th minute of play. After 30 minutes, Jamie Tebbit mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Coningsby and the Narrogin players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Narrogin booed when Coningsby was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 30 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jamie Tebbit didn't get a good kick on the ball. Narrogin's Kirby Digiuseppe managed to work through Coningsby's defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. Kirby Digiuseppe dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in. In the 35th minute, Brent Cameron hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Chuck Shortus had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Kirby Digiuseppe in the 40th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Brian Greenan saved Coningsby from getting behind. 42 minutes into the match, Coningsby's goal looked a bit too open when Kirby Digiuseppe came free, but Brian Greenan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Kirby Digiuseppe scored 1-2 in the 43rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Brian Greenan, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 47th minute, Chuck Shortus ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Brian Greenan was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-3. After the first half Narrogin were leading 1-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Kirby Digiuseppe was the one to do the kick off. In the 65thth minute of the game Kirby Digiuseppe who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Coningsby's Brian Greenan was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 72 minutes, Kirby Digiuseppe made it 1-4 with a short kick to the right side. Coningsby's Brian Greenan tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. The Narrogin fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-6. If Chuck Shortus had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Kirby Digiuseppe in the 88th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Brian Greenan prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Through an outstanding action, after 91 minutes, Brian Greenan successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Brian Greenan made a fantastic save in the 93rd minute, when Chuck Shortus sent off a good shot on target. In the 98th match minute, Narrogin was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Brookes Keam to maneuver through the defense.
