An unexpectedly hard shot by Rick Luckham in the 16th minute of play forced Queenstown's goalkeeper Eden Slattery to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Kyle Kuskop charged in rather forcefully in the 18th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. Sydney Eagles's supporters were dissatisfied at the end of the match because Queenstown had won, even though Sydney Eagles had held more of the ball.
