If Gregory Atkin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Long Hunter showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Clarke Reisz in the 28th minute of the match. When Edward Vaisey fell near the penalty area in the 29th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Adelaide United FC's protests and gave Edward Vaisey a yellow card for diving instead. In the 31st minute, Clarke Reisz got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Clarke Reisz's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Long Hunter read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 33rd minute of play. The supporters of Swan Valley FC booed when Adelaide United FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 33 match minutes in a wonderful position. Carter Turner didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 46th minute, Clarke Reisz got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The Adelaide United FC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Swan Valley FC were winning 0-1.

After some careless play in the Adelaide United FC defense, Jonathan Tarrant kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Long Hunter. The Adelaide United FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Long Hunter should have stopped the shot. Tord Tholsson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jeffray Devere, who was totally free with the ball in the 63rd minute. Henry Mogork kicked well hit freekick during the 64th minute of the match. The supporters of Swan Valley FC booed when Adelaide United FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 65 match minutes in a wonderful position. Carter Turner didn't get a good kick on the ball. Clarke Reisz helped the player get up and apologised. After 71 played minutes Swan Valley FC got a freekick which was hit by Clarke Reisz. Clarke Reisz hit a great freekick 73 minutes into the match. Edward Vaisey sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 83rdth minute of the game Benney Bowen who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Adelaide United FC's Long Hunter was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 84 minutes, Benney Bowen mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Swan Valley FC and the Adelaide United FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 84 played minutes Swan Valley FC got a freekick which was hit by Benney Bowen. Swan Valley FC's Tord Tholsson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Loyd Stageman in the 88th minute of play. Loyd Stageman recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 89th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Gregory Atkin kicked well hit freekick during the 93rd minute of the match.
