Spectators: 8397 (Terracing: 6327, Seating: 1940, VIP seats: 130) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Larry Crampton started the match with the kick off. Clarke Reisz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 3rd minute. Doyle Newton tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Gregory Atkin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 5th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Swan Valley FC's Gregory Atkin got a good chance for a goal in the 9th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 12th match minute, Swan Valley FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Edwards Facey to maneuver through the defense. In the 16th minute Ellam were awarded a corner. Hal Norman went to the cornerflag to take it. After some fancy dribbling in the 24th minute, Gregory Atkin managed to get in a good position for a shot. Swan Valley FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Gregory Atkin was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Doyle Newton breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 29th minute, Gregory Atkin fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. After some fancy dribbling in the 31st minute, Gregory Atkin managed to get in a good position for a shot. Swan Valley FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Gregory Atkin was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Doyle Newton breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Larry Crampton sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Ellam getting a freekick after 39 minutes play. Damon Gronow hit a great ball. Kris Pincini lost his temper 41 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. In a very dangerous position, a player in Swan Valley FC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 40th minute. Penalty! Hal Norman shot the penalty kick right outside the post.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Clarke Reisz was the one to do the kick off. If Clarke Reisz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Clarke Reisz in the 58th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Doyle Newton prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Benney Bowen struck a weak shot in the 60th minute. Doyle Newton didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Swan Valley FC. After 61 minutes, Cain Cubitt mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Swan Valley FC and the Ellam players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 62nd minute, Larry Crampton got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. A collision led to Swan Valley FC getting a freekick after 62 minutes play. Cain Cubitt hit a great ball. Doyle Newton showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Benney Bowen, who was totally free with the ball in the 65th minute. Benney Bowen received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 66th minute. Doyle Newton tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Clarke Reisz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Doyle Newton having to interfere. In the 69th play minute Michael Soekirno came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Tord Tholsson. 0-1. Swan Valley FC's Tord Tholsson proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 77th minute of the match, managed to save Swan Valley FC from getting a goal against them. Ellam's Doyle Newton played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Benney Bowen in the 81st minute of play. A collision led to Ellam getting a freekick after 82 minutes play. Michael Soekirno hit a great ball. Benney Bowen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Doyle Newton having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Richard Greenan during the 89th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Hal Norman took the ball and in the 91 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Tord Tholsson. Tord Tholsson dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. Clarke Reisz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute. Doyle Newton tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ellam were delighted with the way they had won the match. They had held their defensive line well and made the most of their chances, to claim a victory over Swan Valley FC's much stronger midfield.
