Spectators: 8465 (Terracing: 6350, Seating: 1946, VIP seats: 169) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Jacob Wakefield started the match with the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jacob Wakefield in the 8th minute of play forced Maribyrnong FC's goalkeeper Berny Holdsworth to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 11 minutes into the game, Skoolage United's Browne Kidman nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Berny Holdsworth made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. 16 minutes into the match, Skoolage United's goal looked a bit too open when Edmílson Mamais came free, but Ike Pinhey reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 18th minute, Maribyrnong FC's Ian de Godoi ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Ike Pinhey. Ike Pinhey yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-1. Maribyrnong FC's Berny Holdsworth played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jacob Wakefield in the 24th minute of play. Skoolage United's Ike Pinhey proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 29th minute of the match, managed to save Skoolage United from getting a goal against them. When the match clock showed 33 minutes, the score became 3-1 when Ian de Godoi sped through Skoolage United's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Ike Pinhey. Skoolage United's Ike Pinhey played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ritchie Tarrats in the 38th minute of play. If Dante Dorrell had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Edmílson Mamais sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ike Pinhey was out of position in the 48 minute of play, and Edmílson Mamais capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Edmílson Mamais really showed his touch with that goal: 4-1. Af the end of the first half the score was 4-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Ian de Godoi to strike the kick off in the second half. Ike Pinhey came out of the goal in the 57th minute to try and stop a shot by Maribyrnong FC's Ian de Godoi. But to his dismay, Ian de Godoi quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 5-1. In the 60th minute, Ritchie Tarrats made a precise shot to the right of Ike Pinhey. Skoolage United's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 6-1. In the 64thth minute of the game Ian de Godoi who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Skoolage United's Ike Pinhey was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The supporters of Skoolage United booed when Maribyrnong FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 65 match minutes in a wonderful position. Howard Stageman didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Browne Kidman fell near the penalty area in the 68th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Skoolage United's protests and gave Browne Kidman a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Skoolage United's Browne Kidman got a free kick in the 68th minute. Ian de Godoi recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 69th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 72 minutes into the match, Ian de Godoi notched a goal, 7-1, to the right of Skoolage United's Ike Pinhey. Ike Pinhey was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After a rather tough play, Maribyrnong FC's Edgar Keayes got a free kick in the 77th minute. In the 79th minute of the game Howard Stageman made a throw-in which Ritchie Tarrats played forward. Ike Pinhey made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ian de Godoi in the 80th minute of play. Browne Kidman fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Berny Holdsworth having to interfere. The supporters of Maribyrnong FC booed when Skoolage United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 96 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cornelius Nunn didn't get a good kick on the ball. The Maribyrnong FC fans' excitement grew in the 97th match minute when Maribyrnong FC's Ian de Godoi looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 9-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene.
