Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Red Devils United's Bern Pears started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 3 minutes into the match, Roy Mudie notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of AFC Sutherland's Charles Mcgrath. Charles Mcgrath was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Red Devils United's Barnes Hunter played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Biggs Peterson in the 7th minute of play. In the 12th minute, Biggs Peterson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 13th minute, Bern Pears made a precise shot to the right of Charles Mcgrath. AFC Sutherland's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. An unexpectedly hard shot by Biggs Peterson in the 23rd minute of play forced Red Devils United's goalkeeper Barnes Hunter to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 25 minutes into the match, AFC Sutherland's goal looked a bit too open when Raymond James came free, but Charles Mcgrath reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Barnes Hunter took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Biggs Peterson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 33 played minutes Red Devils United got a freekick which was hit by Bruno Arkinstall. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Brye Ross during the 52nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, AFC Sutherland's Brye Ross got a free kick in the 52nd minute. Charles Mcgrath showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bern Pears in the 53rd minute of the match. In the 64th minute, Milton Harding ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Barnes Hunter was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-2. Barnes Hunter made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Edward Veitch in the 68th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Milton Harding in the 86th minute of play forced Red Devils United's goalkeeper Barnes Hunter to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 87th minute the ball was on its way in behind Red Devils United's goalkeeper Barnes Hunter, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. If Milton Harding had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Bern Pears fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Charles Mcgrath having to interfere. The Red Devils United players were the happier at the end of the match as they had prevented AFC Sutherland from taking control. The game ends in a draw.
