Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Ian de Godoi made the kick off and thus started the match. Charles Mcgrath came out of the goal in the 3rd minute to try and stop a shot by Maribyrnong FC's Ritchie Tarrats. But to his dismay, Ritchie Tarrats quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. AFC Sutherland's Charles Mcgrath played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ian de Godoi in the 6th minute of play. In the 7th match minute, AFC Sutherland was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Brye Ross to maneuver through the defense. In the 9thth minute of the game Ian de Godoi who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but AFC Sutherland's Charles Mcgrath was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 14th play minutes Ian de Godoi shot 0-2, a short shot which went by Charles Mcgrath and just under the crossbar into goal. Charles Mcgrath showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ian de Godoi in the 19th minute of the match. 21 minutes into the game, Ian de Godoi cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-3. Charles Mcgrath was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. An unexpectedly hard shot by Biggs Peterson in the 23rd minute of play forced Maribyrnong FC's goalkeeper Berny Holdsworth to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ian de Godoi in the 27th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Charles Mcgrath prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Milton Harding received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Berny Holdsworth tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 39th minute, Milton Harding got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 40 played minutes Maribyrnong FC got a freekick which was hit by Jenkins Glover. 42 minutes into the match, Maribyrnong FC's goal looked a bit too open when Biggs Peterson came free, but Berny Holdsworth reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Berny Holdsworth was out of position in the 45 minute of play, and Milton Harding capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Milton Harding really showed his touch with that goal: 1-3. After the first half Maribyrnong FC were leading 1-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Biggs Peterson to make the kick off. Berny Holdsworth showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Milton Harding, who was totally free with the ball in the 55th minute. Edward Veitch charged in rather forcefully in the 59th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Edward Veitch the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Maribyrnong FC booed when AFC Sutherland was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 60 match minutes in a wonderful position. Edward Veitch didn't get a good kick on the ball. A hard shot 62 in the game by Ian de Godoi from a close distance when the talented Charles Mcgrath managed to make a qualified save. AFC Sutherland's players were relieved. Ritchie Tarrats fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Charles Mcgrath having to interfere. After 66 played minutes AFC Sutherland got a freekick which was hit by Biggs Peterson. Ian de Godoi in the 70thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Charles Mcgrath, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. In the 72nd minute, Ryan Kaine hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ian de Godoi's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 76thth minute, Charles Mcgrath skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. In the 77th match minute, AFC Sutherland was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Brye Ross to maneuver through the defense. After 78 played minutes, Maribyrnong FC's Bo Bowen shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Charles Mcgrath came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Maribyrnong FC reached it. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ian de Godoi got free with Charles Mcgrath in the 80th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Luke Edwards kicked well hit freekick during the 81st minute of the match. Bo Bowen's late challenge caught a AFC Sutherland's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Bo Bowen helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of AFC Sutherland booed when Maribyrnong FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 83 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bo Bowen didn't get a good kick on the ball. Berny Holdsworth showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Biggs Peterson in the 90th minute of the match. Berny Holdsworth made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Milton Harding in the 94th minute of play. When the final whistle sounded Maribyrnong FC left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than AFC Sutherland.
