Spectators: 8492 (Terracing: 6370, Seating: 1953, VIP seats: 169) Maribyrnong FC's Ian de Godoi started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After 4 minutes, Ian de Godoi made it 1-0 with a short kick to the right side. Redlynch's Tommy Pavkovic tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Ian de Godoi scored 2-0 in the 6th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Tommy Pavkovic, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Tommy Pavkovic was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Ian de Godoi showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 3-0 in the 10 minute of play. Tommy Pavkovic made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Edmílson Mamais in the 13th minute of play. Ian de Godoi's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 20thth minute, Tommy Pavkovic skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Jaffery Crapp kicked well hit freekick during the 22nd minute of the match. Maribyrnong FC's Berny Holdsworth played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Berne Samuels in the 22nd minute of play. In the 36th minute, Ritchie Tarrats reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Tommy Pavkovic. The goal made the score 5-0. Redlynch's defense didn't have a chance, in the 44th minute, when Ian de Godoi scored to the left of an out of position Tommy Pavkovic, making the score, 6-0. Tommy Pavkovic took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Edmílson Mamais, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.

The wind increased when Carmichael Schulze made the kick off in the second half. Howard Stageman made in the 57th minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Edmílson Mamais however managed to control. If Ritchie Tarrats had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the match had gone on for 62 minutes, Ian de Godoi put it in 7-0 from a short distance just to the right of Tommy Pavkovic. After some careless play in the Redlynch defense, Ritchie Tarrats kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Tommy Pavkovic. The Redlynch fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Tommy Pavkovic should have stopped the shot. Ian de Godoi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 73rd minute. Tommy Pavkovic tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 77thth minute of the game Ian de Godoi who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Redlynch's Tommy Pavkovic was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 80 minutes into the game, Jenkins Glover was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Maribyrnong FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Redlynch the free kick. In the 80th minute, Jenkins Glover hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Nelson Whatman sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ian de Godoi recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 91st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 94 minutes, Bo Bowen mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Maribyrnong FC and the Redlynch players grew even worse after the yellow card.
