Doyle Cusbert was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. A collision led to Bankstown getting a freekick after 24 minutes play. Pete Carbery hit a great ball. The audience was convinced that Bradshaw Allan's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Doyle Cusbert was relentless in the 26th minute of the game. In the 28th match minute, Castlecrag was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bradshaw Allan to maneuver through the defense. Pete Carbery fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Downing Millard having to interfere. After 31 played minutes Castlecrag got a freekick which was hit by Randall Sparrow. Castlecrag's Baxter Garing managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Edmund Krause in the 38 minute of the game. 39 minutes into the match, Bradshaw Allan had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Doyle Cusbert. Bankstown's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Bradshaw Allan was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. The supporters of Bankstown booed when Castlecrag was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bradshaw Allan didn't get a good kick on the ball. Pete Carbery received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Downing Millard tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Pete Carbery to make the kick off. In the 61st minute, Bradshaw Allan got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 63 minutes into the game, Neville Hunter was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Bankstown's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Castlecrag the free kick. In the 63rd minute, one of Bankstown:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Bankstown. In the 66th minute of the game, Castlecrag got a penalty. The shot went straight in by the left post. Randall Sparrow might have been able to make a better finish in the 68th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Doyle Cusbert. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Randall Sparrow ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 70th minute Randall Sparrow shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Doyle Cusbert saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 71st minute Castlecrag were awarded a corner. Bradshaw Allan went to the cornerflag to take it. A collision led to Castlecrag getting a freekick after 72 minutes play. Jacobs Whelpton hit a great ball. After a rather tough play, Bankstown's Paco Alcock got a free kick in the 76th minute. With his leg Doyle Cusbert managed to avoid a goal in the 84thth minute, when Castlecrag's Bradshaw Allan fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Paco Alcock hit a great freekick 93 minutes into the match. When the final whistle sounded Castlecrag left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Bankstown.
