After 15 minutes, Edward Veitch mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the AFC Sutherland and the Kolo da EA players grew even worse after the yellow card. Biggs Peterson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. Antony Travers tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Antony Travers showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Biggs Peterson, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Darrell Brien got free with Charles Mcgrath in the 29th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Antonio Mundines short, quick shot in the 31stth minute got Charles Mcgrath to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Daniel Bielski kicked well hit freekick during the 41st minute of the match. In the 44th minute, Edward Veitch got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Milton Harding had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 48th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Antonio Mundine was the one to do the kick off. Antony Travers was a little too slow when Milton Harding got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 56th minute. The score was now 0-1. Antony Travers took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Biggs Peterson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Kolo da EA's Alan Sinden got a free kick in the 61st minute. Milton Harding's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Antony Travers firmly grabbed it by the left post. The supporters of AFC Sutherland booed when Kolo da EA was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 65 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dante Tisdell didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Milton Harding had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. A collision led to AFC Sutherland getting a freekick after 73 minutes play. Brye Ross hit a great ball. Kolo da EA made a substitution. Ralph Johnston replaced Alan Sinden. Kolo da EA's attack was well implemented in the 77th minute, but when Antonio Mundine was about to shoot he didn't get a good hit on the ball and it hit the crossbar and flew over. Goal Kick. The Kolo da EA fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. AFC Sutherland were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
